Event Overview
Alternatives in Action, the West Alameda non-profit organization that operates HOME Project, the Bay Area School of Enterprise (BASE) and the HOME Sweet HOME Preschool, in partnership with Comcast, is pleased to announce its fourth annual film event, Project YouthView: The Power of Youth in Film. Project YouthView will take place at the Auctions by the Bay Theater at Alameda Point on April 12, 2008 where it will be filmed by Comcast and aired on Comcast’s local video on demand and on the Comcast Hometown Network.
Project YouthView is AIA’s premier fundraising event that celebrates the power of youth. It does so by showcasing youth-created “film shorts” (submitted by youth across the San Francisco Bay Area) and through a special featured film that tells the story of youth taking action in their lives and in their communities. The event becomes an opportunity for intergenerational dialogue between youth filmmakers, veteran filmmakers and audience members about the issues of importance to young people and the power that young people have to make a difference.
